Event description

Description

Citrus season is live in Sacramento!! Wondering what to do with your bounty of tart fruits? Join us for afternoon of canning as we make a Triple Citrus Marmalade. We'll be using lemons, grapefruits, oranges & honey*. Youth are welcome! Snacks will be served at the end of workshop.

Suggested donation is $5. No one turned away for lack of funds but you MUST register. Space is limited.

For the event we ask that you:
-Bring your own jar to take home (8oz max)
-Bring an apron
-Wear warm layers & closed toe shoes. Part of this workshop will be outside and it will be chilly.

*For those who want a honey substitute, we will also have organic cane sugar available.

Our relatives had these skills just two generations ago, but they’ve been overshadowed and even lost in recent years. So we’re committed to sharing those skills and this knowledge with as many people as we can, especially our youth! It’s another important step toward food security, sovereignty and sustainability in our community.
