Tiny Startup Camp
Description
Tiny Startup Camp is a two-day event where we get together to learn about, and ultimately start building Tiny Startups. On the first day, we'll cover a ton of information on hosting, WordPress, online advertising, marketing and that sort of thing. We'll even cover what makes a good Tiny Startup, and what doesn't. The second day, we'll get to work. Each person will be expected to come prepared with their laptop, an idea (we can help with those) and a willingness to get started. This isn't one of those events where you learn a lot and never put it into practice. Day two will challenge you to leave with a fully operational test site, and real advertising pushing traffic to it by the end of the day.
Why are we doing this? That's a pretty good question. I'm Jason Glaspey, the ringleader of this event, and someone who's started and sold several small companies. You don't read about them in the paper, but they did turn a profit. I now run Paleo Plan, an online site that serves over 1.7 Million page views a month as we help people follow the Paleo Diet. In fact, we were written about in $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau.
I regularly get asked how I did what I did, and what tools I used to do it. Enough people wanted information on what I did, and more information is necessary than I can really give over coffee. So, we've created Tiny Startup Camp to help solve all those problems, and get you going and on your way to running your own startup. Along with myself, we'll have experts in Storytelling (for your website - you have to be able to tell a compelling story if you want someone to buy your product), Adwords, SEO, Wordpress, and more.
