Welcome to the Yale Center for British Art!

About this event

The Center is open on Fridays, from noon to 7 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays, from noon to 4 pm.

Your visit includes access to the Entrance Court, Library Court, Britain in the World (second-floor and fourth-floor galleries), Love, Life, Death, and Desire: An Installation of the Center’s Collections (third-floor galleries), and Art in Focus: Women From the Center (second-floor galleries).

We are committed to the health, safety, and well-being of our visitors and staff and adhere closely to recommendations issued by the state of Connecticut, city of New Haven, and Yale University. We reserve the right to ask visitors who do not follow these guidelines to leave the Center. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

To ensure that we are providing a safe environment for all, we have implemented the following additional protocols:

  • Free timed-entry tickets are strongly suggested. Walk-in visitors will be accommodated based on capacity.
  • Lockers are available on a limited basis. Large bags, backpacks, shopping bags, food, and drinks are not permitted in the galleries.
  • Please follow directions from the Center's staff.

Organizer Yale Center for British Art

Organizer of Timed-Entry Tickets

Founded by Paul Mellon (Yale College, Class of 1929), the Yale Center for British Art is the largest museum outside of the United Kingdom devoted to British art. Located in the final building designed by Louis I. Kahn, the Center is a focal point for modernist architecture. It is free and open to all.
