Event description

Description

Time Travelers sets students on an adventure of exploration, investigating our local history through artifacts in the Los Alamos History Museum and with hands-on activities.

Who Was a Computer? In this program, students will learn about the history of computing and women who worked as computers in Los Alamos for the Manhattan Project. We will visit the Manhattan Project gallery of the museum as part of the program.

  • Drop off your child at 1:15 and pick them up at 3 p.m. Time Travelers is led by the museum educator along with a History Museum staff member or volunteer.
  • Time Travelers is for students in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. Registration is limited to 10 students, with a minimum size of 5 students.
  • This is a pay-what-you-like program. Any donation you choose to make when you register your child will help the nonprofit Los Alamos Historical Society to share our local history. Thank you!
  • The program will be cancelled if there is no school because of snow or other reasons. You will receive a full refund if the program is cancelled because of school closure.
  • The Zia Room is upstairs in Fuller Lodge. After you enter the main doors, go up the wooden stairs to your right or use the elevator at the end of the hall past the Curtis Room. The Zia Room is immediately to the right at the top of the stairs.
