Event description

Description

Join us for a screening of the critically acclaimed film Time for Ilhan. Directed by Minnesota filmmaker, Norah Shapiro, the film follows Ilhan Omar’s 2016 Minnesota House of Representatives campaign. The film was named an official selection of the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival, making it the first-ever Minnesota-made feature-length documentary selected to appear at Tribeca.

Stick around after the film for a Q&A with Shapiro who will discuss her career as a female director in a male-dominated industry and her experience on the road with Ilhan during her historic run for office.

“What I was certain of was that she was extraordinary, and that regardless of the outcome of this particular race, this was a story I wanted to follow and tell.” —Norah Shapiro
