Event description

Description

In January this year, promising and immensely likeable and popular young cyclist, Charlie Craig, went to sleep one night and never woke up. Charlie was 15 years old.

Ride 4 Charlie Trust is managed by a team of trustees and its aim is to support young off road racing cyclists. It will be run on the basis of people applying for support that can assist them in their riding and racing.

We want to hear from young boys and girls age 14 and above who ride off- road bikes and have been inspired by stories of Charlie and his life.

Our aim is to support young off road cyclists, who are or would have been inspired by Charlie to follow in his pedal strokes.

Our vision is to allocate funding to self motivated young individuals, who will be appraised for eligibility by the trustees.

CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young - Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. Since its formation in 1995, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) has been working to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). CRY supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by YSCD and promotes and develops heart screening programmes and funds medical research.

Chimp Management is a powerful mind management model that has helped support the success of Olympic teams, Pro Cycling teams, Premiership and International football teams, rugby and wheelchair rugby and many more sports. It has applications far beyond sport and is used to help people in business, education, health and self-development.

Tim Buckle is an ex British Cycling Coach and cycling squad member. He now works for Chimp Management Ltd, and was a friend of Charlie's.

Tim has offered his time for free for an evening of fundraising in Charlie's memory. His aim is to introduce you to the Chimp Management model - and to your Chimp - and show you a path to help optimise the performance of yourself, your team or your organisation. It will offer up questions like "Why do I think and feel the way I do and is it how I want to? Am I being the best version of Myself? Am I getting in the way of myself?

This workshop is a must for Young performing riders!!

THIS IS A FREE TO ATTEND EVENT - BUT WE WILL BE ASKING FOR DONATIONS ON THE EVENING, THESE DONATIONS WILL ALL GO TO THE RIDE 4 CHARLIE TRUST
