Event description

Description

Author and designer Julie Stephen Chheng will present the US premiere of her work Uramado during the 2019 TILT Kids Festival. Fanciful characters inspired by Japanese folklore are hidden at FIAF and around the city and will come to life through augmented reality in surprising and whimsical ways.

In conjuction with this exhibition, Chheng will lead the following workshops on March 2 & 3 at FIAF. Both activities will be offered on both days.

Tanuki Stickers: Kids will draw scenes and create new stories around Tanuki characters that come to life in augmented reality.

Moving Masks: Kids will color and cut illustrated masks creating their own unique designs. Masks will animate in augmented reality and kids can take them home to play.

Workshops are open only to attendees of the TILT opening weekend shows: The Young Girl, the Devil and the Mill and She No Princess, He No Hero.
