Join Turista Libre in raising a glass to Baja California's artisan beer scene, with a visit to three of Tijuana's more than 40 craft brewers that are on the rise. Also on the itinerary are a taco stop or two.
Tickets include roundtrip border transportation, tastings at each stop and tacos at two of the town's famed taquerias.
The group meets at the San Ysidro Transit Center at 1 p.m., with an estimated return to the border at 9 p.m.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
This is an 18-and-over tour. Passports are mandatory regardless of age.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
We strongly recommend taking the San Diego trolley, as parking lots often costly – some charge up to $25US for eight hours – and often full. On weekends the last downtown-bound trolley departs San Ysidro at 12:58 a.m. More info at sdmts.com.
If driving, take either Interstate 5 or 805 south and get off at the last exit, but be careful not to miss that last exit and actually cross into Mexico. Park at any of the lots – we recommend the ones next to Jack in the Box, a left at the exit and a right at the next light – but give yourself 20-30 minutes because, again, lots are often full.
