Learn how people of color are forging leadership pathways in Bay Area philanthropy, and hear about their lessons, challenges, and successes in navigating individual, collective and institutional financial wealth in the context of social justice.

At the Happy Hour, you’ll have the opportunity to hear from:

Chris Punongbayan, Executive Director, California ChangeLawyers

Audrey Yamamoto, President & Executive Director, Asian Pacific Fund

Robert JosephVice President of Programs, Evelyn & Walter Haas, Jr. Fund  Jacqueline Martinez Garcel, CEO, Latino Community Foundation

AAPIP San Francisco and Silicon Valley Chapters were founded in 1990. They are AAPIP’s oldest and largest chapter whose roots spread both wide and deep within the philanthropic and non-profit communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. They have the highest concentration of AAPIP affiliated giving circles in the country, six now calling this region home. With the AAPIP national office in their own backyard, they do not have to look very far to be surrounded by like-minded individuals who are passionate about improving the status of AAPI communities in the region.

Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy Bay Area is committed to building the emerging philanthropy community in San Francisco, the East Bay, Peninsula, South Bay, and North Bay. They host professional development and networking events in response to the needs of members and in collaboration with local nonprofits and affinity groups

Lacuna Giving Circle is a circle of friends committed to supporting nonprofits filling critical gaps in the AAPI communities. As they empower communities, they empower ourselves. The great achievements in civil rights and economic and social equality were the result of long and hard-fought battles for a more just society. Yet gaps and missed opportunities persist and our struggles remain unnoticed, unseen, and unheard.
