Tidal Wave Reading & Generative Workshop introduces participants to the poetic notion of rhythmic science. With a nod to hip-hop artists and contemporary poetry, host Kofi Antwi will lead guests on a journey to discover rhythmic components in contemporary poets' writings, work from the beat, as well as in verses from Antwi’s writing in Tidal Wave. Free with RSVP, the hour-long workshop will take place on Sunday January 30, 2022 from 11am - 12pm EST.
Kofi Antwi’s writing reflects the identity of the interconnectedness between communities and families in New York City. Kofi’s writing has been published by Great Weather For Media; No, Dear; Rigorous; and various other literary magazines and journals. Kofi is an assistant editor of Black Arts Movement Reader. The poem “vintage” was nominated for Best Poem on The Web by Rise Up.
This workshop is made possible in part by a DCA Premier Grant from Staten Island Arts, with public funding from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
