Start the weekend off right with the First Annual Uncorked Farm to Table Dinner will be held at Celebrations by Bistro 108 (127 N. Main Street) on Friday, March 17 at 6:30pm. This dinner celebrates Central Texas' harvest and local, small farmers. The hearty “local harvest” dinner will be created by Bistro 108's Executive Chef Susan Kuehler. Menu includes 5 courses and 4 wines: Smoked Salmon Appetizer upon arrival pairing: Sparkling Wine, Spring Pea Soup pairing: Chenin Blanc,Mix Baby Lettuces with Strawberries, Goat Cheese, Toasted Almonds and a Wine Vinaigrette, Red Wine Braised Short Rib with White Polenta and Marscapone, Roasted Tri Color Baby Carrots, pairing: Cabernet Sauvignon and Dark Chocolate Mousse with brownie crumbles and raspberry whipped cream pairing: Red Wine TBD.
The 5th Annual Uncorked Wine & Food Festival is a bucket list must! Your ticket will include admission to the music and food tent for local culinary delights mixed with the local tunes of The Smoking Guns. Wine tastings will be located throughout the Courthouse Square and include over 15 different varieties.
And lastly, on Sunday, March 19 beginning at 12:30pm, renowned chef Mike Morphew for a wonderful meal including wine pairings by Rohan Meadery with each course. Chef Mike Morphew worked in the kitchens of Buckingham Palace, cooking for the Royal Family. He holds the title “Master Chef” in the Cookery and Food Association and has gained gold medals in many international culinary competitions. The menu includes:Spring Vegetable Soup topped with Herbed Cream Croutons, Flash Roasted Pork Loin with Madeira Mushroom Sauce, Parmentier Potatoes, Cauliflower and Broccoli Mornay, Old English Bread, Butter and Honey Pudding with Vanilla Cream. Cooking class will take place at Le Petite Gourmet, 226 West Colorado Street.
