Tiara Tuesdays
Event Information
About this Event
Around 8 million women in the US are living with heart disease today. Even though over 435,000 of us suffer heart attacks each year only about half of women in our country know that heart disease is her greatest health threat. The sad truth is that of the 300,000 of us who will die in the next year from heart disease, most of us didn't even know we had it.
What can we learn from the survivors? A lot!
Tiara Tuesdays is a free educational program for women to not only hear from the survivors but to talk with women who are also caregivers of those with heart disease. As a heart attack survivor and their caregiver of a spouse with heart disease, Sheila Caldwell has come to understands both sides of the issues women face today.
Our guest for Tuesday, February 2: Heather Conner, Awesome Blossoms
During the special program, you'll get to hear Heather's story as a mother of a newborn daughter with a heart defect at the same time she is caring for her 40-year old husband after suffering heart attack. She has valuable advise for those in the caregiver role and how to not just survive, but thrive, after a cardiac event.
To celebrate American Heart Month, we want to increase awareness, educate more women about prevention and access to screenings and provide them with the information to share our life-saving message with the women in their lives.
Why a tiara? Because we believe that each woman is the queen of her own heart first and then for their loved ones. We know that women have the power to influence their families and their community to adopt healthy lifestyle choices that can prevent heart attack, stroke and premature death.
This free online program is open to all women ages 18 and older. The first 100 registered participants will receive a copy of "Getting Pumped About Heart Health" and one of our special heart health awareness wristbands.
