Event description

Description

In an annual tradition as sure as Halloween candy and the Thanksgiving turkey, it’s about that time of year when the seasons turn and the articles begin to appear about how much weight the average American will gain over the upcoming holiday season. It’s no doubt the holidays bring with them the potentially dangerous combination of increased exposure to delicious energy-dense morsels and fewer daylight hours in which to burn off those extra calories. How can we strike a balance between maintaining our healthy eating habits but not feeling constantly deprived during this celebratory time of year?

Join health educator and JFK University associate professor Fall Ferguson for a discussion of useful approaches we all can take to eat with greater awareness during the holidays, allowing us to enjoy those tasty treats in moderation without raising feelings of guilt or self-judgment.

Hosted by the Health Education Program.
