Thursday Morning- Vinyasa Yoga
Event Information
About this Event
Satya Yoga offers a non-heated, deeper, slower-paced vinyasa-style yoga to all levels of experience in a creative, safe and nurturing environment. Classes are challenging, rejuvenating and fun, with attention to align the body by building a strong foundation. Basic principles are discussed, demonstrated, and practiced to build upon and enhance all areas of your life: physically, mentally, and emotionally. The practice of yoga enables us to live more fully in our bodies and prepare for the real work that happens off the mat! Every body is different, so students are encouraged to listen to their own bodies and move to their own breath.
We are re-opening for live classes with the following Safety Guidelines and Procedures:
- All students must pre-pay and register by purchasing tickets through Eventbrite.
- All students will be temperature scanned upon entering building and anyone with a temperature exceeding 99.5 degrees will not be permitted to attend, per building manager guidelines and safety measures. If you are not feeling well or have been around anyone not feeling well, we ask that you stay home.
- All new and existing students must complete online our Student Registration and Release of Liability Form: http://www.satyayogagreensburg.com/ReleaseForm.html
- Class space is limited due to social distancing regulations/guidelines. No drop-in students will be permitted.
- All students should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class in order to maintain proper social distancing when entering the building. Be aware that building access may be restricted (locked) when Satya Yoga is the only operating business in the building. If you do not arrive on time you may be locked out.
- We ask that you leave all personal belongings that are not needed (large bags or purses, food, etc.) locked in your car. Small plastic bins will be provided for storage of personal belonging during class. We will be limiting use of common areas/office areas for personal item storage. Bins will be sanitized following each use with CDC recommended cleaner.
- Students must bring their own yoga mat and props. There will not be props or mats available for shared use.
- Students should bring their own water bottle as water fountains are currently not available in the building.
- Hand sanitizer is readily available. If you have sensitivities/allergies to various scents we suggest bringing your own for personal use.
- Masks are required in accordance with CDC and Commonwealth of PA Guidelines/Regulations for proper mask use/wearing.
- The studio will be cleaned and sanitized following each use.
Classes are as follows:
- Tuesday/Thursday - 9:30am: Vinyasa Style - a dynamic, flowing style of yoga where the body's movement is linked and attuned with the breath. This connection of breath (pranayama) and movement (asana) creates a "moving meditation" that builds personal power via strength and flexibility in the body, and peace and clarity in the mind. Students will learn various pranayama techniques and the use of the bandhas to deepen and strengthen their experience of asana.
- Wednesday - 5:30pm and Saturday - 10:30am: Gentle/Beginner - these classes are for students who are new to the practice of yoga or for those who would like a slower-paced class. This is a gentle and relaxing class, that allows for the deepening and lengthening of the muscles and the use of proper yogic breathing (pranayama) to stay in the present moment to fully experience each posture (asana). The gentle stretching of all areas of the body will aid in the release of stress and tension from the joints and muscles, while creating peace and clarity in the mind.
- Saturday 8:30am: Yoga Core/Strength - Yoga Core/Strength - a combination of utilizing the core and building strength. The core of the human body is where all movement and posture begins. Increasing core strength and endurance enhances our ability to maintain postural alignment throughout the day and our yoga practice. Topics covered include: core awareness, breath control, postural awareness, techniques enhancing strength acquisition, specific sequences to encourage muscle tone, and how to obtain strength while using modifications. In this class students will learn techniques to use throughout their yoga practice to strengthen the core and the entire body. Students will practice specific asana to increase core strength and endurance and will balance postures with specific cues to engage the core and encourage muscle tone and definition.
We look forward to seeing you all again soon!
