In 1955, a couple of prominent Greek-Istanbulites adopt an orphan Greek girl from the town of their origin. They offer her a powerful family name and ensure her devotion. She embarks on a new life towards a bright future. Time passes, and the girl grows up, unaware of the devious plan that has been set behind her back.


Dora Masklavanou is a director, writer and actress. Her first feature, Tomorrow is Another Day was a critical success and her second feature, Coming as a Friend, brought her even more attention and established a career in festivals. Dora’s latest credits include the screenplay of Filippos Tsitos’ latest film Unfair World, which was presented at the Official Competition of San Sebastian Film Festival in 2011. POLYXENI is her third feature film.

The night of their marriage, newlywed couple Jacob and Lisa drive away for their honeymoon somewhere in the countryside of Denmark. Graduating from Aristotle University in 2010 with an MA in Film Directing, Gabriel Tzafkas’ award winning films have participated in more than 70 international film festivals. Since 2016 he has also been a member of the Danish Film Directors Association. Thorn, a co-production between Greece and Denmark, is his first feature-length work.

Dolphin Man tells the extraordinary story and legacy of free-diver Jacques Mayol, whose life became the inspiration for Luc Besson’s cult-movie The Big Blue. Narrated by Jean-Marc Barr, the film draws us into Mayol’s world, capturing his compelling journey from Japan to Europe, India and the Bahamas, while immersing viewers into the sensory and transformative experience of free-diving.


Lefteris Charitos studied film at Royal College of Arts in London. He has directed several series for Greek television, including the highly acclaimed history documentary series 1821 and Τhe Journey of Food, as well as co-directing the fiction crime series Zone Defence. Dolphin Man is his first feature length documentary.
