Description

The Northwest Brain Injury Symposium hosts, Thriving After Service: Veterans Living with TBI. This event is focused on the relative impact of a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) on those individuals that have served in the various branches of the military, in addition, to focusing on strategies for positive outcomes. A speakers’ panel of experts will delve into the long-term medical, psychological, and social issues that manifest in veterans that have sustained a TBI. Specific topics will include, but limited to, co-occurrence of PTSD and TBI, recovery trajectories, and the importance of support with access to resources. Opportunities to connect with various local resources, services, and members of the community facing the same challenges will be available. The event is FREE and Open to the Public, with FREE refreshments provided. Please note, parking at the Spokane Public Library is NOT free and will cost approximately $5.00 for the entire event. Parking at Riverfront Square will also be available, as will street parking.

This event is part of the Northwest Brain Injury Symposium, which is supported by Eastern Washington University - College of Social Sciences, Spokane Public Library, Brain Energy Support Team, and the TBI Council of Washington.
