Description
Description: The main objective of this class is to help participants practice feeling safe and comfortable in their bodies, to learn skills to regulate difficult emotions, and to direct attention away from constant worry or negative thought loops by noticing sensations as they occur in the body in the present moment.

Every Wednesday from 11:30 AM- 12:15 PM Through the end of October 2016

Cost: $18 per single class,
$80 per 5 class package,
$150 per 10 class package
What to expect:
* A safe environment with a small number of women- classes will be capped at 6 people per class
* A class appropriate for all levels, and for every age, body shape and physical ability
* A class where the main focus is on experiencing bodily sensations rather than achieving a pose
* NO hands-on physical assists and a non-competitive healing environment
* Simple physical movements that emphasize your capacity to make choices on what to do with your body based on how you feel
Basic Guidelines:
REGISTRATION PRIOR TO CLASS IS REQUIRED. Class is capped at 7 participants to preserve safety of the group. EIther pay online or if you prefer to pay in person please email me at haberertherapy@gmail.com to register for class.
Starting: Register for class and please plan to arrive 20 minutes early to your first class for a brief 15 minute orientation. You will be asked to sign a waiver form and complete an intake form and receive information about this style of yoga.
*Arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow for some grounding time, you do not need to talk to other participants unless you want to.
*Wear any comfortable clothes you can move in, no specific yoga clothes required
*Yoga can be done on a chair or mat (both are provided). I will have some mats to lend, but bring your own if you prefer
***NOTE: Starting to inhabit the body can be emotionally activating. It is recommended that you be involved in Psychotherapy in addition to this class, especially if you have complex trauma or PTSD. This class is adjunctive, NOT meant to be trauma treatment by itself, nor is it meant to substitute mental health treatment***
FAQs
Is there an age requirement? Age 16 and up, female.
Do I need a diagnosis of PTSD to come to class? No. Other emotional issues that cause mood shifts, anxiety and difficulty being in the present are welcome.
Are yoga teachers and clinicians/therapists welcome? Yes
Will I need to talk about my trauma/mental health issues/reason for being in class with others during class? NO.
What are my parking options getting to the event? You can either park on Norfolk, or drive Into the second level parking lot and enter the second floor of the building directly from the parking lot.
What can/can't I bring to the event? You can bring water, comfortable clothes, and your own mat if you have one.
