Thriller-G Album Release and Comedy Show

The Thriller-G Album Release is a major accomplishment for this emerging artist who abandoned a promising music career which saw him dropping rap vocals and ad-libs on the acclaimed calypso/soca album which featured “Masala” by The Mighty Trini, and raising the roof, hands and lighters at local underground parties.

After rekindling his passion and releasing an EP titled “Behind The Bridge” in 2015, he's back with the 11 track album titled “Out of The Ordinary” and includes “The General” (DJ Transaction Remix) and “Wise Up” - the unofficial anthem of the ongoing standoff between union workers and Time Warner Cable. Two of the tracks and his EP was featured on the Trevor Wilkins Calypso Show.

Lovers of urban, Caribbean music should definitely come out and experience how this emerging artist fuses and inter-changes Hip Hop, Calypso, Reggae/Dancehall, Rapso and even a little freestyle in his own unique way. His genre-bending style is so riveting, it’s Out of the Ordinary.

Island to Island brewery was chosen because it has been an incubator for emerging and independent artist to showcase their talent on a weekly, dedicated-rotation platform. It has an eclectic vibe, hipster decor and a fusion of Caribbean drinks and delicacies. They make their own all-organic beer, liquors, kombuchas, ciders, smoothies juices and smoothie bowls all infused with island flair. On the night of the event they will launch their new “Sugar Cane” beer.

They have extensive vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options and are children and dog friendly.

Bio:

Thriller-G is a Queens-based rapper/soca artist who fuses old-school rap/hip-hop lyrics and delivery with new-age blend of soca, reggae, R&B and EDM beats. He also has experience with the extempo and calypso art forms.

When RunDMC, Eric B/Rakhim, Whodini, Kurtis Blow, Sugar Hill Gang were blazing trails during the mid 80’s - when hip hop was emerging as the musical craze, they inspired Thriller-G to pen his own lyrics, also under the musical influence of The Mighty Sparrow, Machel Montano, ShineHead, Lt Stichie, Flourgan, Wycleff Jean, Pearl Jam, Nirvana and many, many others.

Although the fierce music business derailed his progress as a rising artist and caused a 12 year hiatus, he decided to hit the studios again and pursue his passion by teaming up with Brooklyn producer “Twist” - releasing a five song EP in 2015 entitled “Behind the Bridge” which received heavy rotation on NY’s Irie Jam 93.5 FM and local radio stations in Trinidad, and was featured on Trevor Wilkin’s Calypso Show 91.5FM.

His music covers a wide variety of topics from “jumping up”, “taking ah wine” and having a good time - to tackling social, economic and political issues . The artist is always conscious of the struggle poor people face everyday, just to make a way in life and the income and inequality imbalance ,in this country and around the globe is on the forefront of his mind.

11 Tracks including Wise Up, The Thriller-G, Barack Obama, It’s Alright, The General, The General (DJ Transaction Remix), High On Life, No Stopping, Life Of The Party, Out In Space, Killer Wine.
