Location scouting for his upcoming film, Aras, an Armenian director embarks on a journey to the ruins of the ancient Armenian capital of Ani, now located in eastern Turkey. Forced into a circuitous detour through Georgia due to closed borders, he is confronted by the complex geopolitical realities in the region and a growing sense of historic loss.
