Effort/Distance: Challenging/Long

Cost: Tolls plus $3/person entrance fee

After traveling independently to our rendezvous point, this is a caravan trip along the east side of Lakes Marian, Jackson, and Kissimmee (the Three Lakes) ending at Joe Overstreet Rd. We stop at various locations along the way to check for waders, shorebirds, raptors, and warblers.

Target birds include Crested Caracara, Bald Eagle, Barred Owl, American White Pelican, Snail Kite, and Whooping Crane. Possibilities include American Bluebird, Bachman's Sparrow, Brown-headed Nuthatch, and Red-cockaded Woodpecker.

This is an all day trip. Plan to leave the West Palm Beach area in the dark and return in the dark.
