EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

What's in it for me?

  • Clarity around how the elements of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills all underpin your ability to manage and lead well
  • The space and time to consider your own emotional intelligence and decide what you need to continue, adjust, stop and start doing, in order to manage and lead better

How will it benefit my organisation?

  • The research is clear – emotional intelligent organisations are enduringly more successful.  You will gain an insight into what it takes to develop an emotionally intelligent organisation
  • As a leader, you have a huge influence on organisational culture, so developing yourself will enable you to role model the emotionally intelligent way of doing things

What will I walk away with?

  • A thorough understanding of emotional intelligence and its importance to consistently successful management and leadership
  • Insights into your own emotional intelligence and a range of ideas on how it can be improved
  • Tips and techniques for how you can work more effectively with others through empathy, building rapport and tuning into motivations

COACHING

 What's in it for me?

  • The ability to empower others to perform brilliantly and overcome challenges, even when you are not there
  • The buzz of seeing others develop and grow
  • The ability to lead others effectively, even when you have little technical knowledge of their area

How will it benefit my organisation?

  • The power to unlock the whole team's potential
  • Reduced bottlenecks in solving problems
  • Improve the team’s morale, motivation and career development

What will I walk away with?

  • An understanding of the difference between directive and non directive coaching
  • Simple, practical models for structuring coaching conversations
  • Tools for uncovering team members' motivations
  • Plenty of practice and feedback on live coaching sessions

RESILIENCE

What's in it for me?

  • Deeper self-awareness - the key to being an authentic and effective leader
  • Insights to enable you to think differently and take effective action in response to challenges
  • A reflective and interactive learning experience that will enable you to develop the skills and insight to be your best self, no matter what you may be faced with

How will it benefit my organisation?

  • A more resilient leader with an improved ability to readily bounce back from challenges and consistently deliver top performance
  • A leader who can spot the early signs of distress or changes in performance in the people they lead
  • The potential for reduced absenteeism, ill-health and a loss of talent
  • An approach for creating an environment in which people can thrive and thus the organisation gains a competitive edge

What will I walk away with?

  • Tools and techniques for bouncing back from difficult situations
  • Insight and skill to apply your increased self-awareness to consistently be your best self
  • Ideas to create an environment in which you and the people you lead can flourish at work
  • Knowledge and skills to diminish stress and increase your well-being

Harriet Beveridge

Harriet has been an Executive Coach for 17 years -  delivering over 10,000 hours of one to one and group coaching. Recent clients include Screwfix, M&S and Lloyds Banking Group. She is co-author of the bestselling book: ‘Will It Make the Boat Go Faster? Olympic-Winning Strategies for Everyday Success’.  She is also an accomplished keynote speaker and stand-up Comic.

Harriet started her career at Ernst and Young as a Management Consultant working on Business Transformation and Organisational Change.  She then joined RogenSi, a consultancy specialising in leadership, change and growth, where latterly she was a Principal.  Harriet joined Talking Talent in 2009 and developed the firm’s leadership development service line from scratch. She is now Non Exec Director for Will It Make The Boat Go Faster? And heads up their performance programme offerings.

Mark Hughes

Mark’s emotional intelligence expertise is based on a varied career.  Mark is founder of mch, a staff development company that increases the positive impact of Third Sector organisations.  While Mark mentors, coaches and facilitates, the bulk of his time is spent delivering training in key management and leadership areas.  He is also Chair of the award winning social enterprise DECIPHer Impact, which improves public health.

Prior to founding mch in 2005, Mark worked for the international consultancy firm McKinsey & Company before taking on the role of Chief Executive at Rumbalara, an indigenous sporting and community development organisation.  Mark was introduced to emotional intelligence at McKinsey and he repeatedly saw how it influenced the success and happiness of organisational teams.  When he became Chief Executive of Rumbalara, the organisation was on the brink of insolvency.  In such an environment, there was a need to develop trusting relationships quickly, make tough decisions early and empathise with staff members facing redundancy or new challenges.  Success in all these areas required high levels of emotional intelligence.
