History was made on Sept 23, 1780, when Major John Andre crossed the path of three young men serving in the Westchester militia whose families had deep connections with the Old Dutch Church. Start your visit inside the historic 1685 church with the Carla & Keyes' performance of "This Man's a Spy", an original musical retelling of the treasonous plot to deliver West Point into the hands of the British. Following the one hour production with Q&A, listen to a short history of the Old Dutch Church, built in 1685, and follow the docent into the historic burying ground which includes the headstones of 76 veterans of the American Revolution. Hear the stories of some of our local heroes.
Performances are at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., June 18th and 19th. Tickets are $20 per adult. Children 12 and under are free. The Burying Ground is open for free until 4:30 p.m. Event is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Old Dutch Church. Give yourself time to park.
