a funny celebration of blackness in Seattle

About this Event

Yes, it's called This Comedy Show! and yes you should come!

Here's 3 reasons why:

3. What else would you do? Stay home and watch Netflix? You did that last weekend. Go to the club and spend hella money only to regret it in the morning? Heck no! It's not your birthday! Come to The Comedy Show! Make a new friend!

2. It's been a really long week and you could use a drink and a good laugh. Especially in the company of good people and a beautiful atmosphere. The Union Seattle is an innovation hub & event space that fosters community, commerce, creativity, and culture for people of African descent and their allies.

1. because I said so.

Think of it more as a family reunion with people you haven't met yet. And yes we will do be doing the electric slide at the end.

ABOUT THE COMICS

Nekia Hampton

Nekia “PeddyBetty” Hampton is a self-proclaimed seasonal bad bitch originally from West Baltimore City but currently residing in Seattle. Her witty and straight-forward take on the contrasts of living in both cities, adulting, dating, and other first-world woes as a millennial (like vegans, eww) are one-of-a-kind. Although only pursuing comedy for a little over a year, she’s been featured in the NW Women’s Comedy Festival 2018 (Portland) and the Black Girl Giggles Comedy Festival 2019 (New Orleans). She’s also opened the stage for national headliners like Paul Elias (Conan), Meeki Leeper (Comedy Central), and Jared Fried (JTrain Podcast) and most recently Jackie Fabulous (America’s Got Talent). She not looking for permission in life, there’s no time for that. She does whatever she wants to do and suggest you do the same. Global warming is gonna take us out soon anyway, FUCK IT!

She’s funny AND she fine, you don’t want to miss her. And I’m not just saying that because I am her, but it’s true. Come see for yourself!

Kiesha G

Kiesha G is a Louisiana native who moved to Seattle from New Jersey 6 years ago. She is an energetic human who wants to inspire people to be courageous and real. In addition to bringing laughs on the Seattle comedy scene, she also negotiates business partnerships and rocks the mic as a special events emcee.

Quinton Jones

This young comic comes to us from Detroit, Mi. Since moving to Seattle he has made a splash in the Pacific Northwest comedy scene having been featured at the Black PNW Comedy Festival and competing on the Comedy Clash at Comedy on Broadway. His unique observations of his life and others are sure to have you laughing in your seat. Be sure to follow him at Qkillem on Instagram.

Along with some other comedy friends!

We will have music and a cash bar in the space as well. (There will be seats! We won't make you stand the entire time) Let's have fun!
