Hosted by New York comedy darling Anya Volz, Thirst Trap brings comedians you've seen on Comedy Central, Netflix, HBO, MTV & more right to a stage in your neighborhood every month! A show where New York City art and culture meet satire and comedy, every month Anya and a revolving special guest co-host bring in rising stars and big names in comedy for a night of standup comedy, games, and one hell of a party. Past guests include Aparna Nancherla (Comedy Central), Ophira Eisenberg (NPR's Ask Me Another), Myq Kaplan (Netflix) & many more!

ABOUT THE HOST:

Anya Volz is a New York City-based comedian originally from Vermont. Her comedy has been described as “surprisingly funny” and “not even that preachy” by men all across America. She is a contributing writer and content creator for Riot Fest, The Hard Times and Macaulay Culkin’s Bunny Ears. She has been featured in numerous national comedy festivals, including Gilda's Laughfest and the Women in Comedy Festival.

ABOUT THE VENUE:

C’mon Everybody is a friendly neighborhood bar, lounge, gallery, and live arts space in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. With a nod to 1970’S New York City, C’mon Everybody strives to create an environment where all walks of life can co-exist as one, united by the power of music & art.

ABOUT THIRD WAVE FUND:

"Third Wave Fund is an activist fund led by and for women of color, intersex, queer, and trans people under 35 years of age. We work to ensure that young folks are decision-makers at the cutting edge of philanthropy where they are commonly absent.

We hold the following beliefs:

  1. People directly impacted by an issue are best positioned to design and lead solutions.
  2. The leadership of young women of color, trans, intersex, queer, and gender non-conforming youth brings critical analysis and power to all social justice movements.
  3. We will only achieve deep and lasting change if we address the root cause of an issue.
  4. We believe youth are leaders and experts, not in the future, but now, and that youth need to be supported and reflected in philanthropy.

For twenty years, Third Wave has been a leader in gender justice, a movement to end patriarchy, transphobia, homophobia, and misogyny. We fund groups that recognize gender oppression is linked to classism, racism, ageism, and ableism, and that only by squashing all forms of oppression will justice be realized.

As a community fund, we partner with donors and activists to ensure that young people have the tools to make lasting change in their communities. We have an impact through our grantmaking, leadership development, and philanthropic advocacy initiatives."
