Event description
2020 has seen a major shift in the way we operate business. Businesses everywhere have and will continue to adapt.

About this Event

Join us for our first online virtual business conference where we will hear from guest speakers and local Thirsk businesses of how to get the most out of your business for you and your customers.

Thirsk Business Virtual Business Conference 2020 is a must-attend event if you have a business in the Thirsk and district area. The purpose of the event is to connect and support local businesses and bring them together during the global pandemic.

The conference will begin online from 9:30 with networking followed by an introduction from our chairman Guy Baragwanath starting at 9:40, giving you enough time to grab a cuppa and get comfy. At 9:45 we will be jumping straight into the business sessions featuring guest speakers from various sectors delivering talks on how to adapt, grow and manage your businesses.

Sessions include:

  • ‘Social media, sorted’ Lizzie Turner-Jones, Peachy Digital
  • ‘What we can learn from 2020 re: retaining and gaining customers, plus selling more stuff!’ Ian Sadler, insight6
  • ‘FCA court case update and what this means for businesses’ Steven Swift, Sector Associates
  • ‘When is a contract, a contract?’ Susie Mortonson, Harrowells Solicitors
  • ‘H&S essentials that all businesses need’ Anna Maxwell, C2 Safety
  • ‘Supporting our Community’ Lucy Turner, Herriot Hospice Homecare

Registration for the event is now open. All attendees are invited into a closed Facebook Group dedicated to the event. This will be the main place where discussions over the topics discussed during and beyond the sessions.

Please visit thirsk4business.co.uk for regular updates.

*The Thirsk Business Virtual Business Conference 2020 is a replacement event of the T&DBA Expo which was planned at Thirsk Racecourse on the same date. We believe that hosting a large event in the current climate with the restrictions in place will not be possible and instead we will hold a free online conference in its place.
