About this event
Third Coast Percussion presents an evening of music that will thrill both first time concert-goers and contemporary music super fans alike. “Perspectives” invites listeners to embark on an exciting musical adventure, featuring virtuosic repertoire written for Third Coast Percussion by some of today’s leading music creators. Iconic film composer Danny Elfman, innovative electronic music producer Jlin, and American legend Philip Glass embody the diversity of 21st century music making, drawing inspiration from a wide range of influences and points of view.
The repertoire will include “Hero” by Clarice Assad; “Metamorphosis” by Philip Glass (arr. Peter Martin); “Percussion Quartet” by Danny Elfman; and “Perspective” by Jlin.
Third Coast Percussion is a Grammy Award-winning Chicago-based percussion quartet and Grammy-nominated composer collective. For over 15 years, the ensemble has created exciting and unexpected performances that constantly redefine the classical music experience. The ensemble has been praised for “commandingly elegant” (New York Times) performances, the “rare power” (Washington Post) of their recordings, and “an inspirational sense of fun and curiosity” (Minnesota Star-Tribune). Third Coast Percussion maintains a busy tour schedule, with past performances in 38 of the 50 states and Washington, DC, plus international tour dates across 4 continents. 18 and under FREE with paid adult admission.
