Objectives:

  1. Review INACSL Standards for Best Practice in Simulation on facilitation methods, evaluation of expected outcomes, and interprofessional education.

  2. Discuss strategies to integrate QSEN competencies in collaboration, informatics, and quality improvement in simulation scenarios.

  3. Demonstrate aspects of realism that enhance simulation to improve outcomes.

  4. Explore the benefits of several levels of collaboration to improve and disseminate best practice in simulation.

Presentations:

  1. The Integration of the QSEN Competency of Informatics in Simulation through a Hospital System Collaboration

  2. A Student-Faculty Collaboration: Using the PDSA Model to Improve a Nursing Simulation Program: A Two-year Quality Improvement Project

  3. Beyond the Walls of the Simulation Lab: An Academic and Hospital Partnership for Advancing Interprofessional Education within Disaster Drill Preparation

  4. Moulage: Enhancement or Distraction

  5. The Benefits of an Academic and Clinical Partners Simulation Consortium: A Panel Discussion

Criterion for successful completion includes attending the entire session and turning in evaluation form.

This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
