Thinking of setting up an organisation?
Following on from CAN's governance panel event in April, join organisational oracle Christina Poulton at The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum for a bespoke session unpacking everything you need to know to start an organisation, discuss individual plans and visions, and answer any questions.
Cheltenham Arts Network have secured funding from Create Gloucestershire to offer a limited number of free places.
Setting up an Organisation
If you’re thinking about setting up a not-for-profit company, Community Interest Company (CIC) or charity, this training will help you explore the options available and give you the information to decide your next steps.
We will cover:
- When and why to set up an organisation
- Different types of legal structures
- Choosing the right kind of structure for your work
- Defining your purpose or charitable objects
- Nuts and bolts e.g. bank accounts, insurance
- Practical next steps
The session will be practical, jargon-busting, and will give you the chance to get your questions answered so you can get on with developing your work.
Christina Poulton
Christina has worked for arts and not for profit organisations, and with individual artists and freelancers, to make their work easier to manage and fund. She has worked with hundreds of people on their organisation set up, including training on how to choose a legal structure, advice sessions and successful incorporation of charities and community interest companies.
We're expecting high demand for this session, and numbers are limited, so if you find you're unable to attend after registering, please cancel your ticket through Eventbrite or email cheltartsnetwork@gmail.com so that someone else can benefit from this valuable free training.
See you there!
