Broward SCORE is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization and a resource partner of the SBA (Small Business Administration). Our volunteers have been working with entrepreneurs and small business men and women to help them start, develop, and grow businesses across southeastern Florida since 1964. Initially known as the Service Corps of Retired Executives (S.C.O.R.E.) the organization changed its name to SCORE in the 1980's since so many of the business people volunteering were not retired.
SCORE workshops are created and presented by men and women with extensive experience in the topics covered.
These volunteers use their backgrounds, education and acquired business knowledge to organize up-to-date workshops.
The workshops are selected to address the requests of our clients – entrepreneurs, small business men and women, and people who are thinking of starting their own businesses.
The workshops are designed to be interactive. Attendees get to speak about their ideas, issues, concerns, and aspirations in a comfortable peer environment. The rich interchanges provide ideas, instruction, and knowledge that can be put to immediate use.
Workshop locations vary. Some repeat in different venues across Broward County. Others repeat in the same locations.
Some workshops are free. Others have a nominal charge to help defray the associated production and promotional costs.
SCORE also provides one-on-one business counseling with its cadre of volunteers. All counseling session are free. We can match you up with someone with the expertise in area that you would like to discuss. To schedule a meeting go to the website shown on the next line and click the green "Request a Meeting" box.
