Event description

Description

Thinking In Full Color is hosting its first ever Theatrical Writing Residency in partnership with the HCCC Department of Cultural Affairs, right here at Hudson County Community College. Over the course of five weeks, director Summer Dawn Reyes has been working with two HCCC students and one staff member–Victoria Ragbeer, Koral Booth and Hope Guirantes. The three women have been learning how to adapt their writing for the stage, with special attention to communication, emotion and social impact. They have also been working with professional actresses to develop each piece for your enjoyment. See Shari Gill,Samille Ganges and Kymbali Craig bring these powerful explorations of innocence, motherhood, grief, self-actualizationand identity to life. Reyes will also perform a piece by her teen sister Alina Hortillosa, Walls, which confronts the xenophobia many biracial individuals face–as well as the current political climate.

The performance will be held Thursday, November 29 at 6 pm at the Dineen Hull Gallery, 71 Sip Ave., 6th Fl., Jersey City, N.J.
