Thinking (and Being) Jewish

Tuesdays, 9:30-11:30 am Cost: 4 Sessions $36.00; or $10 per single ticket

A four-session series about the great Jewish philosophers who have shifted, shaped and challenged our ideas about God. Taught by Dr. Leah Hochman, Director of the Louchheim School for Judaic studies at USC and Assistant Professor of Jewish Thought at HUC-JIR. Arrive at 9:30 for coffee, tea, and bagels.

  • January 16: Maimonides: The Doctor (Healing, Halakha and the Divine)
  • January 23: Spinoza: The Radical (God, Love & Ethics)
  • January 30: Freud & Buber: The Doctor & The Thinker (Diagnosing God)
  • February 6 : Heschel: The Activist (Awe, Love, and Radicalism)
