Think Twice National Campaign Unveiling
Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (PST)
In response to the rise in gun violence among teens deaths Mary-Pat Hector felt compelled not to just shake her head at the problem. So she call her friends TRep and Charollete and TOOK ACTION. Because she is determined to stop gun-violence in her community, one campaign at a time, in February, she has been tenacious in her planning and pulling together a coalition of community leaders to discuss not just the problem but solutions to curb gang and youth-on-youth violence in her community. Mary-Pat along with her friends is committed to making a difference in their community and influencing other youth around the country. The Think Twice Campaign’s purpose is simple: (1) to teach youth legal, safe, and positive ways to deal with anger and conflict, and (2) to help youth realize that violent entertainment influences their attitudes about the acceptability of violence. While attending this event you will hear firsthand from youth that have used guns and from young people that have lost loves ones from gun violence.
