For the third installment of our monthly recording workshops we're going to talk about guitars, acoustic and electric, and also a couple other things that have strings on them. There are a lot of elements required in getting good solid guitar tones, but like so many other aspects of recording it all starts with getting the sound you want in the room.
Just like with our drum workshop, we'll start our day talking about what you can do to your instrument(s) to have them playing and sounding their best before you even start recording. Then we'll talk about different setups for acoustic guitar recording, electric guitar setups and mic techniques, and also some approaches to recording bass guitar. We'll build up a song around an existing drum track, and when we have the pieces together we'll talk a little about mixing these elements together.
A pizza lunch and light refreshments will be provided. Ticket price is for one seminar, but participants will be given the opportunity to purchase a "season pass" to attend all of our remaining monthly workshops for a discounted price. Students and Educators are invited to purchase admission at a discounted rate from this page, a valid school ID will be required when checking in or the difference in price will be due the day of the event.
