Event description
There’s Good News…and Bad News: Behind the Headlines of Today’s Challenging Stories Reverberating In Jewish Communities & Beyond

About this Event

An evening for women, by women, and about women.

How do we tell our most difficult stories? How do feminist journalists report them? How do our values affect our voice, and the stories we share? Join Susan Weidman Schneider, a founding mother and the editor-in-chief of Lilith magazine--independent, Jewish & frankly feminist--to explore Jewish female stereotypes and discuss how they play into, and against, today's headlines.

Following her talk, there will be an open discussion moderated by Julie Cottineau. Meet women like -- and unlike-- yourself for a lively face-to-face discussion where your voice matters.

The program will conclude with informal networking.

Attendance includes a copy of the current issue of Lilith magazine and a one-year subscription.

About Lilith Magazine & Editor-in-Chief Susan Weidman Schneider

Independent, Jewish & frankly feminist since 1976, Lilith magazine charts Jewish women’s lives with exuberance, rigor, affection, subversion and style. Specializing in women's first person accounts, Lilith magazine tackles important topics of people's minds from the perspective of real, modern, intelligent women.

Susan Weidman Schneider is a founding mother of Lilith, the award-winning Jewish women’s magazine, where she has been Editor–in–Chief since its debut in 1976. The magazine, and her writing and lectures, are often credited with changing the way Jewish women see themselves and their roles in the Jewish community. She is the author of three acclaimed books and has been awarded a Polakoff Lifetime Achievement Award in journalism.
