A FREE EVENT!

Don't miss this afternoon of literary fun! On July 12th, join fantasy author Maika Branch in a creative writing workshop for ages 8-12. Learn the basics of story structure, writing with our senses, finding inspiration, and much more! Challenge yourself with writing prompts and exercises, share your own work, and meet other young writers. Sign up today!

Who is Maika? Maika Branch is an author, illustrator, and performer from Moncton NB. Her first fantasy book, Calagarmii Cliffs, was inspired by the Bay of Fundy's Hopewell Rocks, and was published in 2014. Maika was eleven. Since then, she has advocated for literacy across the province, meeting with young storytellers of all ages, and sharing the message that everybody is creative. Anyone can be a writer - even you!

Everyone writes differently: Participants are welcome to bring their preferred writing tools, such as paper, pencils, or journals (extra materials will be provided). Young writers also can bring a short piece of their own writing to practice receiving and giving constructive feedback. This is a supportive and low-stakes workshop! All experience levels are welcome.
