This documentary-style play by Jen Marlowe tells the true story of Aseel Asleh, a Palestinian teen who was killed by Israeli police, and his family’s struggle for justice. Performed by NYC activists and organizers in the Movement for Black Lives, immigrant rights, Latinx organizers, anti-police brutality activists, and more, the play hits home in more ways than one.
The performance (which is the culminating event of a four day artistic residency) will be followed by a post-play discussion with the performers about intersectional solidarity. Optional workshop to follow.
We hope you will join us and be a part of solidarity in action!
Performers include: Aidge Patterson, Betty Yu, Cherrell Brown, Darius Gordon, Edna Bonhomme, Imani Henry, Izzaddine Mustafa, Jane Ledesma, Linda Tigani, Marquis Jenkins, Nadya Tannous, Natalie Jeffers, Rebekah Tarin, Serena Rascon, Umaara Elliott
