Event description

Description

Sharing stories with children is known to promote their well being. Therapeutic stories are a variation of the teaching tales of Milton Erickson. They utilise a central metaphor to connect with a child’s inner emotional world. You will learn to craft a story using established frameworks that promote self awareness and healing.

During this workshop you will:

  • Identify the emotions that may drive a child’s behaviour
  • Develop a therapeutic metaphor to weave into a story
  • Create a healing story for a child you are worried about
  • Optimum ways to deliver these stories

This training is for you if you have an interest in children’s mental health, including:

  • Primary and Nursery Teachers and TA’s
  • Social Workers
  • Speech and Language Therapists
  • Parents
  • Adoption and Fostering agency workers
  • Family Support workers
  • Playworkers
  • Care home staff
  • Occupational therapists
  • Youth workers

Everyone is welcome and no prior knowledge or experience is necessary.
