The Zonta Foundation of SWFL, Inc's PEEK at the Unique-REPURPOSED!

While we aren't able to give our home tour this year, The Zonta Foundation of SWFL, Inc. is doing something new and entirely unique for you! We are hosting our first ever “jewelry and antique appraisal” event from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Blue Giraffe Restaurant’s new Beachview location. Have you ever wondered if Grandma's brooch really is a Burma sapphire...or just glass? Or if the garage sale painting is worth keeping? You now have the chance to find out just how valuable the jewelry, heirlooms, and artifacts you own really are.

There are 2 types of tickets: one for jewelry only or one for lap-size non-jewelry items only (pictures of larger items may be brought for appraisal). Each ticket provides a 15 minute period for an oral appraisal and you may bring up to 3 items per ticket (time permitting). Professional appraisal for jewelry will be conducted by Carlos Fernandez, a Gemological Institute of America diamond graduate with over 30 years’ experience in the jewelry industry and with Congress Jewelers since 1998, specializing in antique and vintage jewelry, watches and signed period pieces. The nationally recognized H. Peter Curran will be conducting the appraisals for art and non-jewelry antique items. Mr. Curran has over 30 years’ appraisal experience, including six years conducting appraisals on the Antique Roadshow television series. He has extensive experience appraising American and European paintings, prints, silver and furniture from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.

Due to Covid-19 precautions, only 2 people per ticket may attend. Additionally, masks will be worn and social distancing observed.
