Event description
One in four Colorado teens vape -- is your child one of them? Get the facts, find resources, and learn how you can make a difference.

About this Event

Parent University is brought to you by Douglas County Schools and Sky Ridge Medical Center

Held at Sky Ride Medical Center in the Garden Level Auditorium

A 2017 study released by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) showed Colorado as the highest-ranked for youth vaping over 37 other states. That’s one in four teens who are vaping right now. Teens may think e-cigarettes are safer than traditional tobacco products, but research links vaping to health and behavioral risks that can affect a young person for years to come. ***

Would you recognize if your child began vaping? Would you know how to prevent e-cigarette use? How would you intervene if your child is already vaping?

Learn how to answer these questions in a special seminar with Taylor Roberts, Chronic Disease Prevention Coordinator for the Tri-County Health Department. He’ll guide you on how vaping impacts a young person’s health, how it affects the broader community, and what you can do to make a difference today.

No admission fee required. Space is limited to 60 participants, so reserve your spot today!

For questions on this and other Parent University seminars, please contact Stacy Blaylock, Communications Coordinator, at sblaylock@dcsdk12.org.
