The Year’s Final Notes – A Musician-Curated Classical Concert
Overview
The Passport Series: A Global Musical Journey
Final Concert – Student-Curated Performances at Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel
This season, The Passport Series has taken audiences on a global journey through the rich traditions, legendary composers, and transformative power of classical music. Our finale brings that journey full circle—with a program entirely curated and performed by our students, each selecting music from composers across the world that speaks to their own artistic voice.
Join us for a radiant end-of-year classical concert at the Mildred B. Cooper Chapel in Bella Vista—one of the region’s most breathtaking architectural treasures.
At 11:00 AM on December 28, as the holiday season brings family and friends together, we invite you to step into the warmth of the chapel’s soaring glass and timber design for a memorable mid-morning performance.
Whether you are hosting family, welcoming loved ones into town, or simply looking for a peaceful and uplifting holiday outing, this concert offers a perfect moment to pause, breathe, and enjoy live classical music in one of the most inspiring spaces in Northwest Arkansas.
We are honored to feature Dr. Pecos Singer, Artistic Director of The Passport Series, who has devoted years to coaching and mentoring our students.
Adding to the distinction of this event, we welcome the Lakshman Joseph de Saram, internationally acclaimed composer and conductor, as our guest listener and reviewer.
Mr. Joseph de Saram, a Juilliard- and Oxford-trained artist, is an award-winning film composer whose works have been featured in Machan, Between Two Worlds, The Road from Elephant Pass, and Bel Ami (starring Robert Pattinson). As Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Society of Colombo, he has led acclaimed collaborations throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States.
During this special performance, each performer will receive personalized notes from Mr. Joseph de Saram on their interpretation, tone, and musical expression—an extraordinary opportunity to be mentored by one of South Asia’s most respected conductors and composers.
Come early (10:30 am) for a special Musical Appetizer!
