Event description
This Story Crafting group will meet monthly to focus on the Art of Memoir and Personal Essays, led by Diana von Welanetz Wentworth.

About this event

This ongoing group is perfect for those who want to get more serious about writing their personal stories. It will provide an intimate and safe setting to explore inspirational techniques and share with others. It is limited to 24 writers and will meet monthly on the first Wednesday each month from 9:30 – 11 am pt. Diana shares different techniques and activities each month.

Diana will guide participants to focus on the most joyful and/or “growthful” events of our lives to discover the best stories to polish and share. Using a series of playful activities including provocative questions, writing exercises, and breakout rooms

We will:

  • Develop your personal list of stories to polish
  • Learn the Chicken Soup for the Soul-style formula
  • Practice best storytelling techniques
  • Explore new ways to publish and share your stories

This “Sub-Edge” is especially for Inside Edge members and guests who want to learn to practice the art of writing memoir and personal essays. The Writer's Edge has supported many members in developing writing skills, resulting in many published books over the past 35 years. We are re-activating the group in 2021 after a few years off.
