Event description

Description

The Torah hints about the existence of worlds other than this world, HaOlam Hazeh, but the belief in the goodness and eternity of World to Come is central to traditional Judaism. The last of Rambam’s Thirteen Principles of Faith states: "I believe with perfect faith in the coming of the Mashiach, and even if he tarries, I will always wait for him to come."

Judaism holds firmly that the purpose of Creation is the deepening knowledge of the Creator, and that all the suffering, exiles, misery and deaths are designed to prepare for the future state of encompassing truth, light, abundance, love and Oneness.

The course includes six sessions addressing several key concepts relating to the World to Come:
- Messiah: There will be a time in human history that all problems will be solved, and everything will be all good
- Four Worlds: Stages of development include this World, The World to Come, The Messianic Age and the Resurrection of the Dead (as well as the World of Souls)
- Angels: the Creator sends messengers to deliver messages and perform action in our world
- Reward and Punishment: All that happens in the other worlds is determined by our thoughts, speech and deeds in this world, individually and collectively
- Gilgul: Reincarnation of Souls. The soul is eternal and part of the Creator. Death of the body is but a transition to a different state
- Shabbat: A forestate of the World to Come, Shabbat partakes in the future and designed perfection of Creation
