Rene Fisher is a consummate vocalist musician and composer. Known as The World Stage's beloved Mama Na Na, Rene is a Creative Spirit; a progressive force in her immediate community and the Diaspora. She has been involved in Arts and Entertainment for over 30 years.

From being the personal hair stylist to the late Richard Pryor, to evolving as a professional West African drummer and dancer, Rene has emerged as an impressive and relevant artist in word and deed and added to her list of talents are the rich, deep tones of her vocal prowess. Rene Fisher has established herself as a delight in music genres of Jazz, Reggae, Nu Soul, Blues and Gospel Music. She captivates audiences with a strong, soulful song delivery and her innate ability to embrace and express her love for her cultural heritage through African Drum, Dance and Song. Wishing to address the lack of support for female drummers in traditional African Drum circles and a long-standing desire to connect with the Spirit of women who play the drum, She founded S.H.I.N.E. Mawusi*, a women's drum alliance that would inspire, nurture, and empower women to utilize their creative gifts to enhance their community or "Village".

Rene has moved throughout her community sharing her passion as a drummer and dancer at The Los Angeles African Marketplace, NAACP Image Awards, Watts Day of the Drum Festival and more. As a vocalist she has performed with Reggae singer Chescott Barrington Anthony, performed in the stage play Gospel at Co/ones at Cerritos Performing Arts Center and has recorded a gospel CD with Los Angeles gospel choir LA Joy, under the direction of Sam Johnson. As both a vocalist and drummer/dancer, Rene produces the Kwanzaa Unity Festival in Leimert Park which showcases local artists, both children and adults, in celebration of Kwanzaa and collects can goods and other items to donate to needy and homeless persons in the community.
