Dedicated to discussing and rethinking the “now, near, and next” of architectural culture, the new global forum The World Around will host its first edition on January 25, 2020, at the Renzo Piano designed The TimesCenter in New York City. The day-long conference curated by Beatrice Galilee, co-founder and executive director of The World Around, will bring together leading international practitioners and thinkers in architecture and associated fields including landscape, art, sculpture, film, game design and planning for far-reaching discussions about the most vital current and upcoming building projects, the most significant developments in technology and the environment, and the most promising new ideas that are shaping our world to come.
Participants so far announced include: Paola Antonelli, Nick Axel, Shumon Basar, Barozzi Veiga, Josh Begley, Elizabeth Diller, Eva Franch i Gilabert, Catherine Ince, Junya Ishigami, Ibrahim Mahama, Bruce Mau, David OReilly, Caroline Priado Perez, Emmauel Pratt, Cecilia Puga, Shohei Shigematsu, Something & Son, Marina Tabassum, Xu Tiantian, and Michael Wang.
Architects who attend the full conference will earn 7 LUs with AIA CES.
Ticket Information
The fee includes full day access to all sessions. All tickets are available on a first-come, first-served, basis. Once tickets are sold out, a waitlist will open and organizers will contact you should tickets become available.
The Student & Faculty ticket fee is $45 per ticket. Please note that a valid student or faculty ID is required and must be presented at check-in.
The General Admission tickets are $125 per ticket. Tickets are limited and are available on a first-come first-served basis.
A package with two (2) General Admission tickets is available for $225.
Attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets as soon as possible as there are a limited number of tickets available.
