This is an amazing opportunity to see nationally known speakers on the Marian University campus. Due to the generosity of the John Reilly Endowment, this professional development opportunity is free for Marian University Preservice teachers, Marian University Cooperating Teachers, and Marian University Faculty. There are a limited number of tickets, so please register early!
For all other educators, there will be a nominal $25 charge for lunch and materials. If you are a classroom teacher or teacher supervisor you do not want to miss this event! This event will sell out fast!
Keynote speakers Harry Wong, Ed,D., and Rosemary Wong, Ed,D., are the most sought-after speakers in education, typically booked two to four years into the future. The husband and wife team are authors of the best-selling book, The First Days of School. Since its publication in 1991, The First Days of School has sold some 3.8 million copies and has been printed in six languages. According to the Wongs, it is used as a classroom text in more than 2,000 colleges. In all likelihood, it is the most popular book on K-12 teaching in the United States—a text that every teacher seems to know. Harry is a former award-winning high school science teacher and has received the Horace Mann Outstanding Educator Award and National Teacher Hall-of-Fame Lifetime Achievement Recognition, while Rosemary, a former elementary teacher, has received the Silicon Valley Woman of Achievement Award and Southern Louisiana University School of Education’s Distinguished Alumnus Award. They both have received the Upton Sinclair Award and were nominated for the Brock International Prize in Education.
