Event description

Description

Join like-minded educators and hear from artist and biodiversity educator, Angela Rossen. Angela works with scientists to engage children with the wonder of the natural world. She has developed a range of field and classroom activities to engage children with the biota of their immediate environment. Come and discover the fabulous zoo of tiny creatures you can find in your own leaf litter or compost. Angela will present a short talk and a hands on activity.

Afternoon tea is provided.

You will also join a guided tour of Neerigen Brook Primary School to see how they are achieving great sustainability outcomes. Finally, you will hear from Stacey Smithers from Jarrahdale Primary School who will share the experiences of reducing waste through the school's Earth Aware program.

This meeting is a chance for local primary and high school teachers, as well as early childhood educators, to share ideas about the ways they run their classrooms and services sustainably and how they teach children to care for the environment and people. These meetings occur once per term and we will invite speakers to address sustainability topics that are of most interest to meeting participants.
