Join us virtually on Feb. 9 for The Women’s Sports Report, an annual event that gathers community leaders, industry professionals, student-athletes and fans to recognize the impact of sports on girls and women in the Columbus community and beyond. FOX Sports veteran broadcaster Erin Andrews will keynote the 2021 event.

Renee Powell, Former LPGA Golfer and PGA of America Hall of Fame Inductee & Becky Newell, LPGA Tournament Director for the 2021 Solheim Cup
Becky Newell, tournament director for the 2021 Solheim Cup hosted in Toledo, experienced professional with the LPGA and professional golf event management, will sit down with Renee Powell to discuss how women are breaking barriers and shaping the sport of golf. Powell was the second African American woman ever to play on the LPGA Tour and was inducted into the PGA of America Hall of Fame in 2017. She now oversees the Clearview Golf Club in East Canton, Ohio.

Dr. Lisa Hinkelman, Founder and CEO of Ruling Our eXperiences, Inc. (ROX)
Does being on a sports team actually benefit girls? What are the differences between girls who play sports and those who don’t on their levels of leadership? Are girls who play sports more confident than their peers? These are some of the questions that Dr. Lisa Hinkelman, founder and CEO of the nonprofit organization Ruling Our eXperiences, Inc. (ROX), wanted to know when she conducted a research survey with nearly 11,000 girls across the nation. In this session, Dr. Hinkelman will share findings from her research, The Girls' Index™: New Insights into the Complex World of Today's Girls and Girls & Sports: A Girls’ Index Impact Report. You will hear more about the unique contributions that sports make in the lives of today’s girls as well as strategies to cultivate confidence in the girls in your life.

Volleyball is a growing sport nationwide, and it will be in the spotlight once again this year during the Summer Olympics in Tokyo and the NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship in Columbus. In this session, Kathy DeBoer, executive director of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), will give insights into the growth of the sport alongside Jen Flynn Oldenburg, Ohio State Women’s Volleyball head coach, and Kristin Fasbender, NCAA director of championships. You’ll hear about the gold medal expectation for Team USA and what hosting the NCAA championship and 40th anniversary of the AVCA this December means for Columbus.
