Welcome to the Women’s Homestead Society Conference. We are so excited to be throwing our second event and first ever conference. Come join us at Camryn’s Place on Cane Creek in Middle Tennessee for an afternoon and evening filled with learning and fellowship and topped off with an amazing farm to table supper featuring our favorite local farms.

Meet the speakers:

Beth Dougherty

Beth and her husband, Shawn run Sow’s Ear Farm in Ontario, Ohio. They have written The Independent Farmstead, which is a book chaulked full of sound advice and practical ideas for your farm and homestead. They have been homesteading/farming since 1980 and have raised their nine children along side them. Beth’s passion for living in accordance to God’s plan for the land is so beautifully laid out on their own farm and what they teach. Beth is an inspiration and encouragement with practical truth and to the point teaching. Come enjoy hearing her share her heart and soak in her wisdom.

Ann Accetta Scott

Ann Accetta Scott from The Farm Girl in The Making has an infectious personality that immediately you can relate to. Her down to earth heart is shown clearly on her teaching farm, Acorn Creek Farms in Waynesboro TN where she teaches and partners with others to help discover the joys of trades and crafts that are being quickly forgotten. Her book, The Farm Girl’s Guide to Perserving The Harvest is an amazing resource for beginners to experts in the preserving world and a resource you will continue to refer to. As a recent transplant from Washington state Ann has grown her new farm from scratch and has so much wisdom to teach and share.

Sarah Kleinhans

Sarah is an amazing farmer in Waverly with literally the best greens you have ever tasted. Her and her husband and their three little kiddos run Clean Genes farm which provides their community and friends with greens, micro greens, and delicious pasture raised eggs from their chickens. Sarah is a walking wealth of information on business and garden know how. Her insight and business acumen makes her a go to when turning your dream into a profitable venture.

Sophie

Sophie lives in East Tennessee with her husband and two sweet girls and some of their family. She is writing a book that will be released in October 2023 following the WAPF Noursihing Traditions with her own spin on dishes and writes on her amazing blog! Sophie and I met at the Rouge Food conference in December of 2022. I eavesdropped on her conversation with Ann from a Farm Girl in the Making and was blown away with her journey of homesteading and the way her family has chosen to pursue this lifestyle. If you were challenged by 2020 get ready to hear an amazing transformation from those challenging times.
