South America is an excellent source of high quality, high value wines. In this course we will explore what makes these countries perfect for quality grape growing and winemaking. We will then taste through the best wines and grape varieties that South America has to offer at a fraction of the price of comparable quality wines found in Europe and the US. We will be tasting the following wines:

• Carmenere from Chile (e.g. Errazuriz Max Carmenere Riserva)
• Malbec from Argentina (e.g., La Posta Pizzella Malbec, Tikal Patriota Malbec)
• Tannat from Ururguay (e.g., Bodega Garzon Tannat Reserve)
