The Welsh Lakes
Wed, April 5, 2017, 11:30 AM – 5:00 PM BST
The Heart of Wales Line is one of Britain’s most scenic railways and runs for 120 miles from Shrewsbury to Swansea. There are lots of beautiful places to visit around the line so we have organised a series of 6 guided tours and walks to show it all off!
Our first tour will be on April 5th and we’ll take in the ‘Welsh Lake District’. Take the train* to Llandrindod Wells where you will be met at the station by Rob Rees, your guide for the day. Rob has studied, walked and cycled around the area for years and he’ll show you what the beautiful Elan Valley and its famous dams have in common with a romantic poet, a thirsty city and, of course, the railway system.
The train from the north arrives at Llandrindod Wells at 11.39 and from the south at 11.51. Rob will be there to meet you and make sure you are back in time to catch the train home so you don't even need to drive!
Return trains leave Llandindod at 15.36 soutbound and 16.59 northbound. We'll keep you entertained if you are headed north!
*Tour price does not include travel to the meeting point - Llandrindod Wells Station
